Upskilling the next generation of the creative screen industry

Projects

We have been working in the screen education space for over 10 years. Our projects have ranged from youth through to students at university and young professionals.

  • Creative Business Programme

During this course, participants developed a unique story for screen idea through a vocational and applied learning programme within the ASEAN, US & NZ markets. Training culminated in a pitching session to local and international screen industry professionals from Netflix, TVNZ, Disney, and more.

  • Screen Accelerator Project

Unscripted: Screen Accelerator Project was a 5-week programme led by Emmy-winning producer & educator, Jon Kroll. Jon, and a line-up of guest speakers, would work with participants to develop unscripted television shows targeted for U.S. buyers, with a U.S. audience in mind.

  • Roxy5 Short Film Competition

The Roxy5 Short Film Competition was a programme that brought together upcoming student talent with film industry professionals as well as related businesses, organisations and partners – it’s all about building creative experiences and connections for our young future filmmakers!

  • Digital Exports Project

Miramar Creative partnered with the South East Asia Centre of Asia Pacific Excellence (SEA CAPE) to develop two pieces of work that will provide opportunities for improved creative digital exports from New Zealand to Southeast Asia.

  • Creative Futures

Victoria University of Wellington and Miramar Creative presented Creative Futures in 2018 & 2019. The event offered insights into new technologies and demonstrated their application to creativity, business and future daily lives. Speakers leading in their fields in New Zealand and internationally presented talks about how these technologies have shaped Creative Futures.

  • Courtenay Creative Project

The partnership between Courtenay Creative and LATAMCAPE was established with the aim to stimulate interest in the Latin American region and encourage creative business connections and collaborative partnerships between Latin America and New Zealand.
